| A half brother to champion Northerly, North Boy is knocking at the door of a Group 1 win following some very close placings, in the Newmarket Handicap and the Australian Stakes. He has been kept to sprinting distances, with much more success, after he was tried at a mile and longer in the spring. He won the Ascot Vale stakes easily, and was one of the early favourites for the Caulfield Guineas before his form tapered off. He has raced very well during the autumn, and was considered unlucky not to win a big one. Taken to Singapore in May, however, North Boy produced a career best performance to race away with the Group 3 Krisflyer Sprint at Kranji, winning by over 3 lengths! |
