Marble Halls finally broke through for a Group 1 win in the 1998 Toorak Handicap. He has been an enigmatic galloper, he started favourite in th 1997 Caulfield Cup, running unplaced to Might and Power, and was again unplaced behind that same horse in the 1997 Melbourne Cup. He had been runner up to Yippyio, also a one time favourite for both Cups that year, until being struck down with travel sickness after travelling to Melbourne. Marble Halls is trained by Lee Freedman, who finally managed to get the best out of the horse. he was bred, and is owned by, the Scarborough's of Woodnook Farm. He is one of the last Nassipour horses going around, after his sire's premature death.
