Initially a very under-rated horse, Gold Guru emerged in the autumn of 1998 as one of, if not the best, staying 3yo of his generation. He won 3 Group 1 events, including the Australian Guineas (defeating Zonda), the Ranvet Stakes (defeating Might and Power) and the AJC Derby (defeating Tie The Knot). He truly met and defeated the best, and his improvement was nothing short of remarkable. A tough and courageous little horse, he has proved most popular, and will be an exciting horse to watch for the Spring. Connections are looking at either the Cox Plate or the Caulfield Cup with the horse.
